It's our little secret

This is definitely a double post kinda night. Kev's at work until 10 and I shamefully haven't blogged in a week. Much to Robin's dismay, there was no Wedding Wednesday this week. It's sad, but true.

The truth is... In addition to teaching (which is reason enough to prevent me from blogging) I've been busy planning a surprise party for Kevin's 24th! He has no idea. It's great!

It all started a month ago when I came up with the idea, tracked down all of his friends (and some of mine that know him) and told them all to keep the date cleared. Wellll... planning a surprise party for someone is one thing... but planning a surprise party for someone you live with? Next to impossible. I had to be careful not to stay logged into facebook, my email, or get caught texting his friends/siblings all the time. Phew! That is hard work. Not to mention buying all of the stuff for the party. I mean, where the heck do you put it all?? My partners in crime are the large, half empty closet in our spare bedroom that Kevin hardly ever goes in, and his two best friends. Conveniently, one happens to be my brother.

24 hours... 24 hours... 24 hours... Please do not get the urge to play scrabble tomorrow! I've also had the "sudden craving" for taco dip, cheese and crackers, and potato chips. He probably either thinks I'm pregnant or letting myself go. I spent a small fortune on football themed plates, napkins, and other obvious necessities... I mean, he needs M&Ms in his team's colors.

I'll post pictures of the party in a couple of days... probably when most of the alcohol has left my system.

p.s. On a totally unrelated note, I just bought this really cute dress from The Limited and am obsessed. You neeed to try it on. Amazing!! I'll admit that I was forced to do an awkward mirror picture because Kevin was at work. Feel free to judge me.

  1. When I planned my brother's surprise party - it was no easy task either!! I lied up to the day of and a few hours before. He thought I was taking him birthday shopping & that last minute our parents wanted to go so we had to pick them up... SURPRISE!!! He walked into his own party at that moment =) Good luck with the party!!!
